Q&A for Sherwood Investment Services

  1. What should I look for in selecting an investment manager?
Many years of experience (at least 15) and trust are most important.  Your advisor should work without conflicts of interest so they can put your interests first; disclose all costs without being asked; have an excellent reputation; and be able to clearly and simply communicate their strategy.

  2. Who are your clients?
Most of our clients are very successful people.  They do not have the time or resources to manage their wealth and need an experienced wealth manager they trust.

  3. How is Sherwood Investment Service (SIS) compensated?
We do not accept any commissions.  Our compensation is based solely on the value of your portfolio.  When your portfolio grows, we both benefit.

  4. What type of investments does SIS use?
We use only investments with which you are comfortable.  For most of our clients, this means mutual funds, individual bonds, and stocks.  Your plan and portfolio are custom-designed to fit your needs and each client's portfolio is different.  See Investment Choices for a full list of options.

  5. Does SIS use load-funds, no-load funds, or both?
We use both load and no-load funds since you never pay a load.  All front and back-end fees are waived!  (Loads are fees charged by the mutual fund company and are typically 5.75% of the purchase price.)

  6. How accessible are you?
Regardless of where you are located in the United States, you can contact us and talk directly with your advisor, without charge.  If we are not available, all calls are returned the same day.

  7. How often do you report performance?
Your account positions, transactions, and fees are updated daily and can be viewed on-line at our web site.  A written statement is sent to you monthly unless you wish to receive only Email statements.
